As we become adults and enter the workforce, our goals usually consist of putting money in the bank, owning a car, a home, and all the furnishings that make our home ours. While these things are wonderful to have, when we are no longer around, they aren’t going to miss us.

The family will divide our belongings, and friends may take something to remember us by, but at the end of the day, they are just things that have no emotions, no feelings. Other than the family and friends that will miss us, the only other “thing” that will miss us are our pets.

Think about the countless cats and dogs that don’t have a human family, though. Who do they miss, if anyone? Were they once loved by a family and then abandoned for some reason? Or, maybe they were never part of a family, and just left to roam the world finding food and shelter where they could. How sad is that?
The Tulsa SPCA is a non-profit organization that takes in unwanted cats and dogs and strives to find them new homes. So much is done for and to these animals before they are put up for adoption. They are given thorough exams by licensed and trained veterinarians then medicated and treated as needed to get them in good health.

Then, they are placed in foster homes that can offer them loving care while they adapt and learn to be around people. Just like children are placed in foster homes until a forever home comes available, so are the cats and dogs at the Tulsa SPCA.

This not only helps the animals adjust, but it allows the Tulsa SPCA to accept more animals in need because we have more room. But we don’t just hand over these animals and hope for the best. We take several steps to make sure the home is going to be a loving home and the people inside the home have the animal’s best interest at heart.

Once you have signed on and been approved to foster cats and dogs from the Tulsa SPCA, we help you out by providing crates, food, litter, medications, and toys. We provide routine check-ups and any medical treatment your foster pet will need.
